Help & FAQ

Answers to common questions about using Stanley Search.

How do I search?

Enter a 5-digit US ZIP code and choose a radius (10–50 miles), then click Search. Results appear in a table sorted by distance. You can filter by district name or state, and adjust how many results are shown per page.

Why don't some districts have a website link?

Website URLs are discovered automatically using a combination of URL pattern matching and cached lookups. Some smaller or newer districts may not be found yet. Links are validated before being saved, so if a link is shown it should be reachable.

Why is my search slow the first time?

The first search for a given area fetches district data from the Urban Institute API and looks up website URLs in real time. Results are cached in your browser for 7 days, so the same area will load instantly on repeat visits.

How do I find jobs at a district?

Click Search Jobs next to any district to open a Google search for that district's jobs or careers page. If the district has a direct website link, you can visit it first to find their official postings.

Something looks wrong — how do I report it?
